Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville has an exciting opportunity for a 
Handyperson to join our team on a part time basis.

Working with and as part of a  team in order to perform miscellaneous maintenance and minor repairs such as, but not restricted to, replacing  light bulbs, repair door locks,  patching holes in walls, painting etc.
Shifts will be afternoon shifts Monday to Friday 1pm - 7pm, 30 hours per week and the occasional weekend.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Carry out a range of maintenance tasks including painting, decorating,
Perform preventative maintenance in general
To attend to all guest room complaints.
Assist to evaluate and repair minor faults.
To assist maintain the pool areas within the Hotel.
To repair and maintain all furniture and fixtures.
To repair and maintain faulty items in guest rooms
To paint areas of the hotel, oil and stain furniture and decorations.
To replace and install doors and cabinets
To complete minor projects
Assist in the maintenance of all areas of the building as directed.
Keeping the overall Hotel appearance at peak level
Ensure compliance with regulatory procedures, requirements and standards
Assist other departments 

To be successful in this role, the applicant must possess:

Previous experience painting / decorating essential
A good eye for detail ensuring rooms and public areas are presented to a high standard at all times
Skills to execute workmanship to a high standard
Demonstrated experience working unsupervised and under time constraints
Ability to carry out manual handling duties at to be able to work at heights including working overhead
Willingness to assist with other maintenance tasks when required
Available for afternoon shifts 1pm - 7pm.
